Those who know me well enough would have the knowledge that one of the very first anime I really got into was Yu-gi-oh!. Since it has evolved over the years and earned sequels to the original series, I have kept up with most of them. This list is going to reflect the ones I've kept up with, and am including my personal favorites for each series.
That being said, I will not be including the following in any of these lists: Zexal, VRAINS, and Sevens. I kinda skipped Zexal and thus can't give any fair answers for the following categories. Then from the bits and pieces I did see of Zexal, I doubt I'd enjoy it much. I absolutely refuse to do anything with either VRAINS or Sevens, as both immediately lost my interest the moment I heard or saw anything about them both.
On the off-chance you read this but have not followed along fully with any of the series I'm about to bring up, or the names associated with them, then beware of spoiler alerts. And last, but certainly not least, but I am only referring to every single character by their Japanese names. There are a lot of English ones (particularly in GX) that are just too cringeworthy and ... no. Not typing those out.
Sorry, not really. Personal preference. If you don't know the Japanese names, you can cross-reference them, but I'm not listing English names here.
Without much more further ado, onto my personal favorites.
This already may look a bit odd, but personally, I do count wrestling under a fandom. While a lot of people immediately think of anime and manga, I personally define it as 'anything that is shown through any source'. This extends, in my eyes, to comic books, movies, TV shows, and so much more so ... here we are.
Anyway, as a novice wrestling fan who has created and role plays as a fake wrestler, I have witnessed my share of fights over the years. Most, admittedly, from Friday Night Smackdown!, but I have found some other names, faces, and techniques in the various other shows, like NXT, etc.
This list is going to include my Top 10 Favorite Wrestling Moves, and most are going to be determined by who use(d) it, how it looks, and probably some other factors I'm not immediately including.
For anyone who wants to check my wrestling gal on Twitter, her handle is @titanesssam. Do note that I reserve the right to not follow any real accounts back, or block them if I find a reason to. But otherwise, you can check her out, as well as her promos, belts she's won, etc. which are all listed in the site I have in her profile.
Finally, in order to avoid having any videos taken down/off this page, I'm going to use gifs instead. Those should be left alone. I'd like to think I'm making it obvious, but the note beside each move is whom I saw first use it, not necessarily the very first person to use each technique. Clearing that up right now to avoid any confusion.
Ready to see my Top 10 Wrestling Moves? Alrighty! Let's do this.

And that wraps it up for today's entry. Thanks for reading along, and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did creating it!
So first and foremost, before I get to the main point of this post, I sincerely wanna apologize. I did not intend to have such a long hiatus. In addition to all the nonsense 2020 threw at me, one of them ended up being a really horrible toothache I got about a month after my last entry. And if that wasn't bad enough, I didn't get said tooth extracted for two more weeks, so I was stuck in god-awful pain for way too long.
I'm not gonna fill in all of the blanks with excuses, because I'm intending to remedy my absence with this post. I'm also going to see about posting every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so keep your eyes open especially on those days. I may go to an every day posting status eventually, but for now, I'm starting off on a slow but steady pace.
Now then, going to the main topic, anyone who follows the anime and manga One Piece knows about the Akuma No Mi, or Devil Fruits. They come in three categories; Paramecia, which is the most commonly found type. There are also Zoan fruits, which tend to change and/or give people animalistic forms, or at least features. Finally, there are Logia fruits, which literally allow users to become an element. From ice to fire to magma and so much more.
With as many fruits as there are in the world of One Piece, it's easy to assume there are quite a few that have some very scary abilities.
So which ones made my own personal list? Read on to find out those answers as well as why I chose them over others. For anyone who isn't far in the anime/manga series, beware of spoiler alerts which may or may not be found in this list. You have been warned. Without anymore ado, here's my Top 10 Most Terrifying Devil Fruits.
#10: Doku Doku No Mi (Venom-Venom Fruit, used by Magellan): I would probably put this much higher up except for the fact it is only poison. Don't misunderstand me. I've read the chapters and seen the episodes. It absolutely does quite a bit of damage. But compared to the others I found and included here? I think it'll become more obvious why it's so low on this list. Still, poison is never fun to deal with in any setting, so I made sure to include the Doku Doku No Mi on this list.
#9: Yami Yami No Mi (Dark-Dark Fruit, used by Marshall D. Teach): Despite the powers that come with this fruit, it is also its own double-edged sword. It is literally shown in the series that the same darkness which absorbs powers simultaneously allows the user to still be hurt. With it having this disadvantage included with it, I couldn't put this higher. Still, for what it does offer for anyone who uses it, the Yami Yami No Mi is a force to be reckoned with, particularly if you're not careful when you fight Marshall Teach.
#8: Suna Suna No Mi (Sand-Sand Fruit, used by Crocodile): The first Logia fruit to make this list. For me, it isn't necessarily becoming the sand that's scary. It's being able to extract water from anyone you fight, as we've seen when Crocodile literally drained and dehydrated Luffy's entire right arm. He has also been seen outright killing guards from Impel Down by draining them with his Devil Fruit. The sand can be parted, which can allow Crocodile to dodge and avoid attacks. Like all of the fruits though, it has its own weakness aside from sea stone and ocean water.
In the case of Crocodile, its his sand becoming solid if he comes into contact with liquids, including blood. When this happens, his sand is unable to nullify damage.
#7: Suke Suke No Mi (Clear-Clear Fruit, formerly used by Absalom): The sole fact you can use this fruit on an undead/nonliving thing or person makes it terrifying in its own rights when you stop and think about it. It also doesn't seem to be limited to a definite number; just how many people/items the user touches. But if you go about using this wisely, you could literally create an invisible, decent sized group of soldiers or even worse with this fruit. Aside from the usual weaknesses, there are also tricks to finding/discovering invisible people/items, hence why it isn't quite higher up on this list.
#6: Zushi Zushi No Mi (Thump-Thump or Thud-Thud Fruit, used by Issho/Admiral Fujitora): The ability to manipulate and control gravity is, by itself, already nerve-wracking. Add in the fact it can grab anything as small as debris or as large as a meteor ... oof. I know I wouldn't want to be facing Fujitora. As if none of this was intimidating enough, the fact Fujitora is blind but can still use it with pretty good accuracy ... do I need to add much else?
#5: Pika Pika No Mi (Glint-Glint Fruit, used by Borsalino/Kizaru): With the Pika Pika No Mi, you can not just move at the speed of light, but also become and even control it. In his own ways, Kizaru can even teleport himself by reflecting his body to any desired location. The biggest weakness, aside from the usual suspects? You can only travel in straight lines.
#4: Hobi Hobi No Mi (Hobby-Hobby Fruit, used by Sugar): Not only does the Hobi Hobi turn people into dolls, it erases their memories entirely. Two things that already make me cringe just from the mere thought. Sugar used this Devil Fruit to a degree in the series where she was able to create a relatively large army courtesy of the Hobi Hobi No Mi. However, once you render the user unconscious through fear and/or pain, all of the transformation and memory modifications will be immediately cancelled.
#3: Ito Ito No Mi (String-String Fruit, used by Donquixote Doflamingo): Another fruit where a person can be manipulated. I'm sure you can notice a theme here with me. But on a serious note, this was higher up for me because you can apply it to more than just people, evidenced by Doflamingo's Torikago (Bird Cage) technique. The strings have been shown to be strong enough to cut through flesh, as seen when Little Oars Jr.'s right leg was cleanly removed in one swift motion. Furthermore, the strings are borderline impossible to see with the naked eye. They can even make inorganic matter become threads via his Awakening of this Fruit.
#2: Gura Gura No Mi (Tremor-Tremor or Quake-Quake Fruit, formerly used by Edward "Whitebeard" Newgate): This is considered to be the strongest Paramecia Fruit, and for a very good reason. The massive vibrations and shockwaves are not restricted to being aimed at the ground. You can target both sky and sea for these also, and the results are absolutely devastating. Just about any and every AMV on YouTube that has The Battle of Marineford shown can give a much more visual demonstration of everything I mean. Some of the few people who were able to weaken or completely stop this Fruit's ability were other Fruit users, such as Admiral Aokiji. Had he not been present, there very well may have been a lot more damage dealt to the landscape and even quite a few people present.
#1: Nagi Nagi No Mi (Calm-Calm Fruit, formerly used by Donquixote Rosinante): So why is this listed above the Gura Gura, you may be one wondering? Easy. The thought of anyone that is a sniper, stealthy, or even both and possessing this fruit? Scary. It could make for one of the most perfect assassination fruits. While this theory is not canon, I've wondered/thought that either Van Augur or Lafitte may eventually be given this fruit sometime in the future. Both would be dangerous choices, as both fall under the types of people I listed above (stealthy and/or snipers). Personally, though, I think Lafitte would be a bit worse, because he already doesn't make sounds when we walks. So if he had the Fruit and the ability to make a soundproof field? Yeah. I'll leave it at that.
And there you have it! My Top 10 Most Terrifying Devil Fruits!
Tada! It took me a bit, but lo and behold, here's the topic I decided to start off with. If you've read my old blogs, you'll see that, yes, this is technically a list I already made. I'd like to think, however, it'll be much more organized for an array of reasons.
First of all, this will allow for any fandoms to be used. Movies, video games, TV series, and anything else besides the anime.
Second, unlike the previous list, this isn't separated by endings or openings. I'm allowing for both - and even just OSTs - to be incorporated in this list.
With all of this said and done, here's my disclaimer not only for this list, but what I'll consistently have in every post. I promise to try avoid repeating franchises. Assuming, of course, it isn't a list based solely just on one series like this one, as an example. Regardless, I may repeat every now and again, and if that happens?
It'll likely be for one simple reason. Plain and simple, it was earned. It's definitely not meant to annoy anyone.
Another important disclaimer to note; most of what I include is solely - definitely usually - from fandoms I know of. If I put down something that's from an unfamiliar fandom, there's typically a reason why, and it will always be explained.
Finally - I swear, this really is the last one, sorry - there may be spoilers included in each explanation. Read at your own risk.
Annnnd for now, that should be everything you need to know on what to expect. So, without anymore further ado, here are my personal top 20 Fandom Songs.
#20: "Yhorm The Giant" - Dark Souls III
So remember when I said most of what I put up is from things I know? Yeah. Well, here's an early example of something I'm not overly familiar with. By name at most, and perhaps a few Let's Plays on YouTube, but not much more.
So why is it here?
An e-fedding friend of mine used this as his old entrance for his wrestler he created. It grabbed my interest and I asked what song it was. He said he couldn't recall, so I looked it up. This thus led me to learning about "Yhorm The Giant".
The song has a very alluring tone to it. From what I have seen of the games, it matches it really well. As good as it is, though, it's down at 20 primarily due to not being as familiar with this as I am the other songs listed here. It wouldn't feel overly right to give it a high spot when I can't speak on the video game series. But I still do think it earned enough recognition to be here.
#19: "You Say Run" - Boku No Hero Academia [My Hero Academy]
So let me start off with saying this. I probably should have from the get-go, really, but all of these songs are, in their own rights, really good. "You Say Run" is no exception. When I first encountered it, though, it wasn't from the anime. It was from YouTube, when everyone was creating numerous "You Say Run Goes With ______" videos.
It honestly felt overrated, to put it bluntly.
I gave it maybe ... one to three months after first hearing it, took a more neutral listen to it and realized that, admittedly, it was a pretty decent battle song. I can see where a lot of people have used this for other fandoms, but I definitely do not think "You Say Run" goes with everything.
#18: "Alice" - Shadow Hearts II
As someone who used to play piano years ago, I know firsthand how powerful of an instrument it can be, particularly when played by skillful musicians. The simplest chords can bring just about anyone to tears, and this song is no exception. In fact, that's a good reason this is placed relatively high; because of the character this is named for.
The selfish fact-slash-true is that I hated Alice ever dying in the first "Shadow Hearts" game. Royally, I might add. I'd rather be including a theme surrounding her with a far more happier ending. Alas, that's not doable. So ... it lands at #18 for me.
#17: "Blue Bird" - Naruto Shippuden
For me, this was hands down the best theme song that was used in Naruto, be it Shippuden or not. For those who don't know me very well, I can sometimes be picky. Music is not immune to this rule.
As much as I love this song, the series is a very different story. It, therefore, kinda influenced where I ended up placing this song. I'll spare the rant on why exactly I became 'ehhh' with Naruto as a series. In fact, that'll probably be a whole separate list.
Just know that partially helped determine it's place.
#16: "Core Pride" - Aoi No Exorcist
This, honestly, falls under very similar reasons with Naruto's "Blue Bird". However, compared to "Naruto", I definitely enjoyed the first season "Aoi No Exorcist" a lot more. My biggest complaint? It was rushed as all hell, and you could tell.
It just reminded me why I try to read mangas over watching anime. More often than not, at least an arc or several tend to be omitted, and the entire story isn't shown.
#15: "Believe x Believe" - Yu-gi-oh! Arc-V
Between most (I don't acknowledge Zexal, VRAINS or Sevens) of the Yu-gi-oh! series, Arc-V is actually my second favorite. That being said, this song gave the right beat and tune to start this new adventure off on. There were tons of new card types, new summoning techniques, even how the duels were played were improved upon. The optimistic and cheerful setting the song gives helps emphasize and foreshadow this is going to be a series with many surprises and new beginnings.
And it absolutely succeeded in that goal for me.
#14: "Here" - The Ancient Magus' Bride
This series really hit me in the feels. Not just with the character Chise, but this song and it's translations. It hits very, very, very close to home. I honestly believed (and still do, in some regards) that I was somehow a modern yet reincarnated version of Chise. Our backgrounds are so similar, it's eerie.
Granted, I'm obviously not the exact same as her. Definitely not a Sleigh Beggy, as a good example. I have, however, had my own share of odd, bizarre, and very difficult to explain events occur to me.
The song does at least eventually shift to a more positive mood where the concept of hope is far stronger than despair. What doesn't change, though, is the sad tune that lingers throughout the opening theme. So, it stays at #14 for me.
#13: "Shunkan Sentimental" - Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
This song was used at one of the absolute best times. The climax of the "FMA: Brotherhood" series was really beginning to get under way. Everyone was thus training in some form or fashion, and this just felt like one of the best song choices to end. It got me really hyped and excited to see what would end up happening next.
#12: "If I Had A Heart" - Vikings
Much like the above entry, this song always got me eager and filled with anticipation to see the next episode. That wasn't all this song offered for me, though. Though short and sweet, the lyrics themselves made me feel as if I were living during the eras when Vikings were still alive.
I realize that most lyrics to many songs are never 100% accurate or whatnot. However, this did sound and seem as if something one may have heard a Viking sing. Sorry if this sounds a bit odd, I'm not always the best with explaining. But I definitely try.
This answer is one of the few that is easiest by knowing - or listening if you're unfamiliar - with it to try to better get where I was attempting to go with this.
#11: "Just Communication" - Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
This was one of the very first animes I ever started watching. So it's fair to guess that "Gundam Wing" most definitely holds a special place in my heart. The song was really catchy for me. It never left my head for the longest time and, to this day, replays automatically every now and again. So if you want a more in-depth set of reasons why it landed here?
A bit of nostalgia plus great tune/beat and lyrics.
#10: Netflix's "Daredevil" Main Opening
Much like Vikings' "If I Had A Heart", this is incredibly short. But in that single minute, it paints one of the best pictures regarding the series despite not uttering a single word. The ability to tell stories without using any type of narration is a talent that is not often seen and usually difficult to achieve.
But this was done borderline perfectly.
Some may think the use of red as the only color is a bit repetitive, or even annoying. And I admit that normally, I'd be one of those people. But with the "Daredevil" series, it was actually very appropriate. Passion, love, war, violence, anger .. all of those emotions and many more are represented within the opening, and you can see and hear it pretty well.
#9: Tsumi Na Bara [Sinful Rose] - Disgaea 2
Although I have played the first Disgaea, it was actually this song that got me a bit more invested in the video game series. I like how they have the various classes involved. It's a simple but effective approach that was used in a smart manner.
On my own selfish note, I really enjoyed the brief dance between Adell and Rozalin.
#8: "Lilium" - Elfen Lied
So ... a lot of why this is placed as high as it is? The nerdy part of me that was fortunate enough to learn Latin was ecstatic to find and hear this song, let alone realize it was linked to a fandom. Thankfully, there are more reasons to put this specific title so high up. "Lilium" has its highs and lows much like the series in question does. There were a good number of happier moments, and just as many saddening ones.
The song - for me, at least - decently expresses the switch between tone, both in the song and anime/manga.
#7: "Tank!" - Cowboy Bebop
I will be the first to admit that, normally, I am not a fan of jazz. I just never have been. Nothing against the genre, it's just never grabbed my attention. Not before finding this song, at least. The first time was on "Stepmania" which, essentially, is similar to DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) yet different in its own rights.
Suffice to say, when I finally watched the anime several (as in 2-3) years ago for the first time ever, my love for this song only got stronger. What mini-scenes are included and played are timed out well, and done in manner I couldn't help but find myself more intrigued with "Tank!" than experiencing any negative emotion.
#6: "Boys & Girls" - Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Anyone who is familiar with me also knows I love "Katekyo Hitman Reborn!". To degrees you wouldn't believe unless you met me, in fact. The anime and manga, however, were better for the me than the songs. But if I had to pick my favorite among them all? It'd be "Boys & Girls". The fact it's used during the Varia Arc, which was my favorite part of the story, just gives it bonus points for me.
Since it's used during an intense plot line like the Varia one, the beat was nicely balanced out. Not too serious, but simultaneously not too lax. There are moments where other events aside from fighting happen, so the beat "Boys & Girls" presents represents the overall arc very nicely for me.
#5: "What's Up, People?" - Death Note
So .. if you have never heard this song now, here's your heads up. It has a lot of cursing. It's actually what the entire song is about and that's largely why it's put at number five. Anyone who knows about "Death Note" knows the premise of the series, and frankly? This sums it up rather well.
It makes no attempts to hide that some people in this world truly are just horrible. Monsters even. And that's exactly what "What's Up, People?!" points out and highlights; those types of individuals and that they do, indeed, exist.
Considering corruption is but one of the themes of "Death Note", I liked that they made a song which focuses one of the aspects of its own story and concentrates solely on that.
#4: Netflix's "The Punisher" Opening & Ending Themes:
With any luck, I won't repeat any cop-out like answers ever again. Or at least not anytime soon. But I tried re-listening to these both numerous times in hopes of figuring out which I preferred more. It was too close to call so ... I decided to include them both, count it as a draw, but keep them in the same spot. It seemed like a fair compromise.
They both set the mood for the series so damn well. They're both intense, implying action is most definitely about to happen, just .. they're pretty much perfect for this series.
#3: "Wild Side" - Beastars
Surprise, surprise. Another jazz song made the list. But how could it not is the better question. More impressive than the tune and beat with the jazz, though, was the slow animation technique used in this opening. I'll confess some of the lyrics felt a tad ... off. But this was one of those instances where the beat plus the actions occurring kept me from questioning the lyrics too much to not enjoy this song.
#2: "Bye Bye Yesterday" - Assassination Classroom
I'll admit that unlike some other songs on this list, this one does not reflect the mood of the entire series. About half to three quarters at most. Even still, there are so smart choices made with this song. Even just the title was a brilliant move.
"Bye Bye Yesterday", although primarily referring to class of 3E's school life coming to an end, does not only refer to this. It implies saying farewell to the past and focusing onto the future. One could literally say it's a song about graduation, but one that was done for an anime. Like most of the other songs listed here, this was catchy for me also.
#1: "GRAIN" - Monster
"Monster" is easily one of the most underrated and lesser known about fandoms. Literally just about everything involved with "Monster" was done perfectly, and the opening theme is no exception. Whereas Naruto's "Blue Bird" theme is cheerful and upbeat, the series does not keep that tone the entire time.
Whether the gesture was intentional or not, the creators and composers of Monster's theme seemed to purposely choose a tune and melody that hinted how the tone would be. And it was something that never really changed much, if ever, throughout the entire anime.
Similarly to the "Daredevil" entrance, it tells a story without speaking. It does offer the most subtle glimpses of things that may be seen in the series, but not enough to offer any massive spoilers. GRAIN always gave me more than enough excitement and anticipation, and those sensations only got stronger after watching each and every episode.
And ... there you all have it! My Top 20 Fandom Songs!
Thank you all for reading along! I hope you enjoyed this as much as I loved creating this entry for you all!
Greetings and welcome to my new blog. It's no secret if you look around, you'll find my older blogs I used to write in. Suffice to say, I've gone through some of the old entries and ... I won't lie. Quite a few of them made even me cringe. So for those? I sincerely do apologize.
At the end of each and every day, I am still human. A 33-year-old (going on 34, to be precise) cis-woman whom, like other people, makes mistakes.
I won't promise my blog will be perfect, but it'll definitely be an improvement. Especially with the swearing. I at least vow to cut it down, but don't be surprised if there are still a few expletives included here and there.
There honestly probably won't be any actual NSFW content included in any of my posts. I simply turned that warning on just as a precaution. At worst, it'll be because I include fandoms that have incorporated mature content. Even then, though, said acts will not be posted randomly. Alternatively, if they are, it'll be there to help prove points, but not just because I can do so.
So, who exactly am I?
Aside from my name and being a 33-year-old woman, I'm a happily married female. Me and my husband hit our 10 year wedding anniversary this past May. We do have a 14-year-old daughter. Due to complicated circumstances, she's living with her maternal grandparents at the moment. Living with us in our apartment are our two cats, Apollo and Ares.
We're both fandom lovers, although Veinexes tends to be the more active video game player than myself. That being said, when I do indulge in video games, they're titles I get really into.
At heart, I'd consider myself still a bit of a Texan, a feminist, but even more so than both of those? A writer.
I created and run a fake/fictional/whichever word you want to use wrestler for e-fedding. Essentially, e-fedding is role playing, but you focus solely on wrestling as opposed to many other topics. I say many because Sam is an actress [not porn, no, actual one] and model on the side. Her first and most important job, however, is wrestling.
For those curious about Sam, I made a site strictly for all of her promos, awards she's won, and so on. You can find them all here. Do note that I purposely disabled the ability for anyone else to register. This wasn't done out of spite, simply to ensure no bots or whatnot could come in and ruin/hack my site.
That being said, you can still view the site and all of its contents properly as a guest without having to register.
I do write on other RP sites. They are 18+/mature in nature, but I don't simply write pure smut. I do indulge in actual stories. For (hopefully) obvious reasons, I won't quite relay where you can find me, nor under what username(s). Just know it is a hobby I do and thoroughly enjoy.
I also dabble in other activities such as Tarot Card Readings, reading, (more) writing, playing video games, watching YouTube/movies online. It may seem cliche and boring, but it's who I am.
Annnnd for the time being, that should be good enough!
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy what I post up here!
